SUMMARY
Jenny Garrett Global is a UK leadership development consultancy specialising in Inclusive Leadership, Entrepreneurial Leadership and AI-Ready Leadership. Founded by Jenny Garrett OBE — an executive coach, MIT AI Strategy graduate and award-winning author with over 20 years experience — JGG embeds social value at its core through Rocking Ur Teens CIC, a community interest company that has contributed over 5,000 hours of free professional time and delivered events for more than 3,000 young people from 250+ schools across the UK over 13 years.
If you are searching for a leadership development consultancy that does more than deliver programmes and walk away, this is worth reading. At Jenny Garrett Global, social value is not a line in a tender document. It is woven into why we exist – and it started long before we had a name for it.
Where This Really Started
Rocking Ur Teens did not begin as a strategy. It began as a mother watching her daughter struggle.
When my daughter was around 12, I started to notice her mood shifting. The phone would be left on the stairs before bed and ping all night. The content flooding her feed was relentless – comparisons, body image, a kind of low-level sadness that was hard to name but impossible to miss. I felt like I was losing her to a world I could not reach into. She seemed lost.
I began researching how to support young people’s mental health in the digital age. One thing became clear quickly: teenagers rarely take reassurance from their parents, who they see as biased. What they respond to is seeing people slightly older than them, or from backgrounds like theirs, living full and purposeful lives. Role models who are close enough to feel real.
That insight became the foundation of Rocking Ur Teens – a community interest company I co-founded with Sandy Parris and Geoffrey Williams 13 years ago. The idea was simple: bring young people into rooms with people who can show them what is possible, in settings that expand their sense of where they belong.
What I did not expect was that 13 years later, we would still be doing it – and that it would grow into something that has reached over 3,000 young people from more than 250 schools across the UK.
What Rocking Ur Teens Does
Rocking Ur Teens CIC runs two major annual conferences – an International Women’s Day Girls’ Conference each spring, and an International Men’s Day Boys’ Conference each autumn. From January 2027, it will also deliver the Empowering You Programme, a six-month in-school initiative working with young people on stress, mental health, career planning and confidence.
Crucially, this is not a programme just for girls. The pressures young men face – around identity, aspiration, mental health, and what success is supposed to look like – are just as real and just as underserved. Both conferences are built on the same belief: every young person deserves a day where they are the priority, in a room full of people who look like them and have built lives worth aspiring to.

The IWD Girls’ Conference: Confidence, Careers and a Room That Says You Belong Here
Each March, Rocking Ur Teens brings together young women from schools across London for a full day of keynotes, career panels, networking and live performance – held in a corporate setting that itself sends a message about where they belong.
The 2026 conference, held at the London Stock Exchange Group on 10 March, brought together 76 young women from four London schools. The line-up included a session on confidence and identity from Aiko Sato (Head of Client Solutions at Jenny Garrett Global), a talk on AI and agency, a careers panel with professionals from Bouygues, BBC Studios, Barclays and LSEG, a motorsport speaker in Gracie Mitchell, and STEM engineer Gerren Ntiri. The day was hosted by Charlene Gravesande, founder of Ink Media and a trailblazer in sports broadcasting, with closing remarks from Erica Bourne, Group Chief People Officer at LSEG.
The impact data from the 2026 conference:
94.7% of students said they learned about a career or industry they had never considered before.
92.1% said a professional they met made them think differently about what they could achieve.
78.9% left feeling more confident about their future than when they arrived.
90.8% said they would recommend the day to a friend.
4.7 / 5 overall rating from six accompanying teachers.
“The whole day was epic. Everyone got listened to. Best trip in my whole 2 years of being in the academy.” — Chelsea Academy student
“One student spoke about how the session explained her anxiety better than anybody ever had. She felt very validated and left with a new framework to navigate negative thoughts.” — Deputy Head of Year, Chelsea Academy
“The relatability of the speakers – young speakers, lots of different careers and different types of women. Speakers who were honest about being scared or shy helped students see they don’t need to be the loudest in the room to be heard.” — Deputy Head of Year, Salesian School

The IMD Boys’ Conference: Because Young Men Need This Space Too
In November each year, Rocking Ur Teens holds its International Men’s Day Boys’ Conference – a full day built around the themes that matter most to young men: identity, resilience, purpose, and the practical realities of building a career.
The 2025 Boys’ Conference, held at Linklaters – one of the world’s leading law firms – brought together students for a day with speakers spanning sport, business, the creative arts and entrepreneurship. Tambo Silavwe opened with a session on self-awareness and positive identity. A careers panel with professionals from law, global tech and renewable energy fielded honest questions about routes into work that don’t require university. Social media influencers talked about building an online presence through consistency. Olympian diver Anthony Harding spoke about the discipline of believing before achieving. Akil Hunte focused on resilience and wellbeing. Performer Buna shared his journey in the creative arts before teaching the room some dance moves. Andy Vickery, Global Head of Finance at Linklaters, closed the day with practical wisdom: show up on the bad days as well as the good, build your network, and be brave and deliberate.
“The event has been a resounding success. The students were able to relate to the speakers and have the belief that anything is possible.” — Billy Doyle, Phoenix Academy
“What an inspirational, motivating and well-organised event. The speakers, quizzes and ambience were truly engaging and aspirational.” — Shoala Hentzen, Capital City Academy

The Empowering You Programme: Taking the Work Into Schools
A single conference day is powerful. But it can only do so much. From January 2027, Rocking Ur Teens is launching the Empowering You Programme – a six-month in-school initiative that brings the same approach directly into the classroom, in small groups, with mentoring built in.
The programme is designed to address what schools consistently tell us they lack the capacity to deliver alongside a packed curriculum: the real-world skills that sit alongside academic achievement. Managing stress. Building mental health resilience. Navigating career decisions. Developing the confidence to pursue ambitious goals.
Schools can register their interest by emailing info@rockingurteens.com before 30 October 2026.
Supporting Schools: Meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks
Both conferences are structured to deliver against the Gatsby Benchmarks – the framework used by secondary schools across England to evidence careers guidance. For schools with limited curriculum space and stretched careers teams, this matters.
The 2026 IWD conference delivered evidence against five benchmarks:
Benchmark 2 – Labour Market Information: exposure to careers in motorsport, AI, data science, media, financial services and the performing arts. Teacher rating: 4.7/5.
Benchmark 3 – Addressing the Needs of Each Pupil: tackling gender stereotypes and building confidence in underrepresented groups. Teacher rating: 4.8/5.
Benchmark 5 – Encounters with Employers: direct, personal access to professionals across multiple sectors. Teacher rating: 4.8/5.
Benchmark 6 – Experiences of Workplaces: a full day in a real, prestigious corporate environment. Teacher rating: 4.0/5.
Five out of six teachers said they would ‘definitely’ recommend the event to a colleague. Five out of six said they noticed a noticeable increase in students’ confidence and aspirations on the day.
5,000 Hours and Counting
We have never tracked the hours we put into Rocking Ur Teens. But when we recently sat down and worked it out, the number was striking.
Two conferences a year, three members of the JGG team giving a full day to each. Around 500 hours a year across the team when you factor in planning, partnerships, speaker relationships, logistics and governance. Tania, our Operations Manager, has contributed around five additional days a year over the past three years on top of that. And that is before you count the time Sandy Parris and Geoffrey Williams – my co-founders – have given to this work over 13 years.
Our conservative estimate: more than 5,000 hours of professional time volunteered to Rocking Ur Teens since we started.
5,000+ hours of professional time. Freely given.
We share this not to seek recognition. We share it because we think it matters when you are evaluating a leadership development partner. Social value is easier to claim than to evidence. We have written elsewhere about what meaningful social value really looks like in practice – this is ours.
How This Connects to What We Do at Jenny Garrett Global
Rocking Ur Teens is not a side project. It is an expression of the same values that drive our client work.
At Jenny Garrett Global, our Tri-Level methodology works simultaneously with diverse talent, their line managers, and senior sponsors – because systemic change requires intervention at every level. Rocking Ur Teens operates on the same logic, but reaches further back in the pipeline. It asks: what conditions does a young person need to even see themselves in a leadership role in the first place?
The answer is always the same. Visibility. Confidence. Access. And the experience of being in a room that treats them as someone who belongs there.
That is what each conference delivers. And it is what we have been delivering – quietly, consistently, for 13 years – alongside our work with the NHS, UK Parliament, National Gas, Equans and every other organisation that has trusted us to develop their leaders.
