Jenny Garrett wins coveted Inspiring Mentor of the Year Award

The 2023 Forward Ladies Leadership Summit and Awards has brought some of the country’s most successful and influential businesswomen to the limelight, a celebration of remarkable leadership and impact across the UK and the globe. This year, the event has proven to be bigger and better than ever before and we are proud to appreciate the unflinching support of our friends; The Open University, Ello Group, Cohorted, PA Consulting, BASF, and GKN Aerospace.

The 2023 edition recognized 13 distinguished winners who demonstrated resilience, exceptional prowess in their respective fields, earning recognition for their outstanding contributions, exemplary leadership, and mentorship skills. Brought to you by the global organization Forward Ladies, the 13th annual awards stand as the premier celebration of women in excellence.

This year’s event unfolded at the prestigious 5* Londoner Hotel, where the winners emerged as the ultimate trailblazers, who are breaking barriers and impacting their communities with their skills and leadership. Unlike the virtual setting of the past, this edition was a dynamic in-person gathering, effortlessly hosted by the accomplished Genelle Aldred, Author, Broadcaster, Consultant for all things communication, Deputy Chair of Women in Journalism and Journalist, who provides social and political commentary for Sky News, BBC Radio London and Canadian News.

At the heart of innovation and forward thinking, the speakers sparked dynamic discussions, delving into the future’s potential. From diverse perspectives on technology, sustainability, artificial intelligence, diversity and inclusion, and societal shifts, the panel’s insights fostered an environment where the audience eagerly embraced the unfolding narrative of women in leadership and the next generation’s role in shaping our collective tomorrow. The keynote, Bonita Norris, a remarkable trailblazer, shared the awe-inspiring account of being the youngest person to conquer Everest. Her gripping narrative transcended mere mountain climbing, illustrating the power of determination, resilience, and the pursuit of extraordinary goals.

After a meticulous evaluation process, the esteemed judging panel, featuring accomplished trailblazers like Emma Davies of Grant Thornton, Matt Turner of Ello Group, and Lara Oyesanya of World Remit, made their decisions from an exceptional shortlist of candidates. The winners of the 2023 Forward Ladies Leadership Summit & Awards were unveiled on Friday, 24th November.

The highlight of the night was the ‘Business Woman of the Year’ award, awarded to Emma Wright, a market-leading partner in the technology sector, specializing in complex technology transactions for both suppliers and customers, particularly within the technology and telecoms space. Emma’s accomplishments surpassed all criteria, making her the well-deserved winner!
